OlAround a Pakistani FourSquare APP

A new app locally made in Pakistan powering up different restaurants, cafe's, shops, brands and encouraging them to offer discount to every one who scan's the QR Code placed in their shop. So far they have powered 170+ restaurants, cafe's and brands in Karachi, Lahore and Isloo.

This app is developed by Bramerz in association with Google, Pasha and Ufone.

Its one hell of an app, I recently punched like 5 times already on Dominos and the plus point is that every time I punched it, I got 4 cinnamon sticks for free :)

How does it works?


 
Go to Google Play Store on your cell Phone

 Search for OlAround App and download it

Once its downloaded let's open it!

  

Once open, it will ask you to login into your account of OlAround via Facebook Connect, just click on the button and volla!

Go to the nearest OlAround powered outlet, click on the upper right corner of the app to see the below screen and ask the outlet for the QR Code

Djuice Apportunity Closing Ceremony - 2012

So this year's Apportunity contest is now officially closed. I was invited to their event along with other bloggers and twiterati's :)

Event started with introduction of djApportunity which is same that empowering our youth to create more and more apps and giving them platform a global exposure and resources, thus helping them in all possible ways to make sure they become successful.

Some facts about this year programme of "App mein kitna hay dum" This year most of the apps were submitted by students from Karachi University. 83 apps were completed and were submitted and all were registered. 1700 plus registrants from 8 universities of Pakistan. I personally think it will cross 140 next year.

After this lot if intro's the guy running the show kept the event interesting on tried his level best to keep event interesting lol.. kher moving forward Panel discussion on "Future of mobile Apps" very interesting questions and answers.

After that a competition to find all the QR codes was there. Scavenger hunt and one of ma buddy won!!!. Moving forward quiz and later gift ceremony to those who were able to sell most of the apps or were able to make quiet interesting apps and then food.

Overall it was a marvellous job by DJuice team, I believe they hired Lane12 as their digital company.

In the end, I believe Djuice / Telenor is doing an amazing job to contribute in the echo system and I am just surprise that other giants from the same industry are not following them yet!

HyperStar in Karachi!

I wanted to share this post because I was very excited to see this huge mart in Karachi

The other day me and my friend were passing from Afridi INN in Karachi and we were going towards hotnspicy roll corner and we saw this HyperStar Logo which resembles carrefour logo. I was like what the hell, why I didn't knew about it and then I saw many cars going inn and we decided to go as well.

Kher jee, we parked the car and went inside the mall Dolmen City where HyperStar is opened and then I saw the counters and I was convinced carrefour have to do some thing with him and I asked one of the employee bhai is this carrefour or hyper star? and his replied was yes; its a merger b/w two and I am still not sure wether he was right or wrong

Moving forward, we started from the electronics section and we spent 3 hours surveying store and we were like very nice now we don't need to waste our time in electronics market and ask for discount e.t.c. because the BEST possible pricing with best possible deals was available there so my tension of going to Electronic market was over. I saw the pricing of shaver and LCD and I know there was a difference of 1000 rupees with free delivery by HyperStar to any where in Karachi. Same goes for Spice market, Auto market and I was finally able to see Red Sniper Fish there which I was not able to find any where easily and such huge CRAB for (Crab Lovers) :)

So Guyz what are you waiting for they have outlet now in Karachi and Lahore go check out and now you don't need to go to any other market!

KU postpones exams scheduled for May 25

KARACHI: The University of Karachi has postponed the examinations scheduled for May 25.

This was announced by the spokesman of the institution here on Sunday evening. He said that the papers included both the morning and the evening shifts. The fresh date for the postponed papers of May 25 will be announced later, the University spokesman added.

Unknown lawbreakers have set as many as four busses on fire in different areas of metropolis burning to death a woman while a person was shot dead in an another incident of indiscriminate firing, Geo news reported late on Friday.

Meanwhile, many areas witnessed aerial firing incidents leaving people in panic, sources added.

According to details, at least four busses have been torched by unidentified miscreants in separate places including Gulistan-e-Johar, Garden, Risala Road, near Metrological office and others.

As per Cheepa welfare sources, the workers found a dead body of a woman from a burnt vehicle while her kid, a minor boy, received burnt injures.

Meanwhile, firefighting sources have confirmed torching of three busses in various areas while in addition to this, anonymous miscreants have also gunned down a person in block 16 of Gulistan-e-Johar area, sources maintained.
